Reimagined work spaces in a vintage factory
Gate 510, formerly a 1950s Plymouth automobile manufacturing plant, has been reimagined as an incubator and innovation hub for entrepreneurs and makers. Shannon Leigh partnered with Think Joule Design to implement new branding and wayfinding.
Shannon Leigh’s team assisted in the wayfinding strategy development, specified materials for the sign program, programmed the unit numbering, and created evacuation maps for the complex. A site survey of the maze-like layout led to a zone approach that was identifiable by color codes for each zone. Color-coded wayfinding signs added bold pops of color to the industrial materials and design of the building.
