Shannon Leigh was originally hired to perform an interior wayfinding assessment for the main hospital in Sacramento and to update the interior signage standards manual and to update all sign types to meet CBC, Fire Life Safety and ADA codes at UC Davis Medical Center. As UC Davis Medical Center has grown into a world class healthcare system, Shannon Leigh has continued to collaborate with the UC Davis Health System’s Facilities Design and Construction Department on new construction projects, department moves and remodels.  

The client is undertaking major construction projects over the course of several years and brought on Shannon Leigh to be a design partner to create a sign program that is innovative, functional and compliant with the ADA and building code requirements.  We have various projects in progress, revolving around updating sign existing conditions to the new standards.  Shannon Leigh works closely with various UC Davis Health System project managers, architects and interior designers and proactively collaborates with stakeholders to ensure that wayfinding and designs coordinate with the overall plan for the system’s expansion.  

Our latest project was for UC Davis Health Call Center.  Completed Fall 2020, it is a 2-floor renovation for the consolidated call center operations. The architectural design called for sign designs that emphasized the hospitality feel using rich, high end finishes to coordinate with the elegant space. Patterns and finishes from the standards manual Shannon Leigh developed for UC Davis Health work seamlessly in this innovative and welcoming work space.
